Metaphoric experential training
Through metaphoric experiential training, clients develop soft skills through training metaphors.
The training metaphor is a symbolic context that reproduces the behavioural patterns of the professional environment, allowing participants to “live” difficult situations and activate the changing process. For example, if a team needs to develop team spirit, a cooking metaphor can be used and participants asked to create a full menu, divide roles, responsibilities and activities (e.g. chopping ingredients, cooking dishes, managing the kitchen). It is possible to improve communication through experience using dance, to manage conflict through theatrical improvisation, and to develop leadership through painting.
The metaphorical experiential training :
- Creates a contextual meaning for the group
- Increase self-awareness and awareness of the needed change
- Powers the analytical thinking of participants, combining apparently very different situations and stimulating new ways of thinking
- Stimulates creativity and social imagination
For the metaphorical trainings I partner with professionals with extensive experience in their area: musicians, dancers, painters, actors, cooks, photographers, yoga trainers, philosophers, cinema experts.
Each training is custom-built based on client need and each metaphor can be used to develop different soft skills: painting for emotional intelligence, music for leadership, cooking for creativity and so on.
